HASTI PALESHWAR

Lord Shiva was describing the various sacred Teerths (Ponds), Koop (Wells) and places of worship in Kashi.  Lord Shiva described such places with delight (Kashi Khand, Chapter 97).

Hasti Paleshwar

Hasti Paleshwar

In the vicinity of Daksheshwar  is the Hasti Paleshwar Ling. Worshipping this Ling is equivalent to worshipping an Elephant. Here the devotee may regard this as Elephant God. Some learned pundits have inferred this to mean that the devotees will become so wealthy that they will be able to keep Elephant in their house and look after the animal.  This is a very great achievement.
